Nelson Fortes Lima, TAP's pilot, won the gold medal at the 8th Portuguese Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which took place in Lisbon on April 7th. Fortes Lima became national champion in the Master 2/White/Heavy Band category, and Paulo Horta, also pilot of the Airline, received the silver medal in the same category.

Fortes Lima wins his third title in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, which he has been practicing for nine months, having seven years of Japanese jiu-jitsu practice which, in addition to ground fighting, also includes foot fighting and the use of weapons.
Nelson is no stranger to winning (he was once a national karate champion), but believes that these recognitions are gratifying, and highlighted to What’s|UP the importance of the sports practice for physical and mental well-being.
