The new TAP safety video was announced at the last edition of the Lisbon Travel Market (BTL), on March 1st, and simultaneously on TAP’s social networks. Since then, it had more than 240 thousand online views. Aboard our airplanes since March 14th, it has been showing Portugal to the world through the eyes of expatriates who have fallen in love with our country and decided to exchange their motherlands for the Portuguese homeland.
It could be fiction, but the actors of our onboard safety video do live in Portugal and were chosen from a casting that lasted for two months, to respond to the 180 registrations of people coming from more than 20 countries.
And to better disseminate Portugal to our passengers and to the world, we recorded locally, always with the support of the population of each region. If we consider only the land trips, the film crew traveled more than 1.500 km on national soil, for more than 15 hours on the road.
"Portugal: a country where the sun chose to live" is the slogan of this safety video. In fact, the search for the sun that was intended to be published was not difficult. The more than 10 hours of recorded images and five terabytes of disk space, for only four minutes of film, proof just that. What may be less evident is that most of this video was filmed during the coldest week of the year so far, in a range of temperatures from 5 °C at noon to -1 °C at night.
