TAP ME is already getting ready for the new neo aircrafts of Airbus, which should begin to arrive at the airline in the summer.
The theoretical part of two formation classes took place in February, dedicated to the new A330neo – that TAP will be the first airline in the world to operate – and will be followed by two more, this month. Lectured by Airbus itself, the courses will be in TAP’s headquarters, in Lisbon.

At the end of January, 44 technicians had already finished the A320neo formation. TAP ME, that ensures the maintenance of TAP aircrafts, but also for third parties – including SATA – has had, therefore, the opportunity to work, in practical formation, in the new A320neo for the Azorean airline.

Due to the future, and much anticipated, entry of the new fleet A320neo and A330neo in TAP, there are already being planned, for this year, several new training courses of TAP technicians – narrow body and wide body. Since the courses are already taught internally, there will be no need to resort to third parties.
In what concerns all the preparation to receive the new neo in TAP, and being that the airline will receive the first A330neo of the world, with an expected arrival in August of this year – Mário Lobato Faria, TAP’s Chief Technical Officer (CTO), stated, in the last years overview video that this has been a “very dynamic activity and, at the same time, careful”, speaking also about the necessity to ensure that “we have what it takes and is necessary and enough to support the TAP’s neo fleet.”
