TAP has associated to the climber Ângelo Felgueiras, Captain of the Company, and the first Portuguese to do an expedition to South Pole. During the month of December, TAP will donate one cent for each transported passenger to the institution supported by Ângelo Felgueiras in this initiative, the “Acreditar – Associação de Pais e Amigos de Crianças com Cancro” (Acreditar – Association of Parents and Friends of Children with Cancer).
In the signature of this partnership protocol, Fernando Pinto, TAP’s CEO, received Captain Ângelo Felgueiras e Margarida Cruz, general director of “Acreditar” Association, to formalize the initiative and to wish success to the expedition. “For TAP it is a double rewarding to participate in this action, that involves one of our Employees and simultaneously a noble cause as it is the work made every day by “Acreditar””, stated Fernando Pinto.
Ângelo Felgueiras ensures that the culture of TAP security will always be present in this challenge: “The security and the programming are two key factors in this expedition, which is something that is in my DNA due to my profession”.
The expedition, that started on 8th of November, will last more than fifty days and will end after 1200 kilometers traced.
