In this Portuguese party, TAP and Time Out recreated what can easily be a Stopover in our country. In a space decorated with typically Portuguese elements, the guests could taste the best of the national gastronomy, which was divided by three main sectors – North, Center and South of Portugal – each one offering little entries and a typical main dish of each region. The Company also presented the various viticulture regions of Portugal, through the wines served during the event.
One of the high points of the initiative was the offer of a two-person trip to Lisbon, attributed to the best photo taken at the photo booth present at the local, whose announcement and award delivery was made by Joaquim de Almeida. The actor, alongside with Daniela Ruah, was the leading figure of the promotional video of Stopover Program, presented during the event, that has been the beginning point of TAP’s communication in the North-American market. Remember that the Company promote this Program and Portugal in a campaign that happened between last July and last August, through the advertising in 400 new-yorker taxis, alongside with 61 bus stops and 17 digital panels spread over Toronto, in Canada.
Attracting more and more North-American tourists to Portugal and Europe, through the big touristic appeal provided by the Stopover Program, TAP started its expansion to these markets in 2016, with the opening of the Boston and New York – JFK routes, two destinations that eventually were revealed to be winning bets.
