Daniela Ruah and Joaquim de Almeida, the best-known Portuguese actors in the United States, are TAP’s new ambassadors and are starring in the airline’s new advertising campaigns specially designed for the US market.
Though they have different profiles, both share the fact that they are Portuguese artists living in Los Angeles. They have successful careers in Hollywood but their roots are in Portugal. And now they want to show their country to the world.
Together, they will be responsible for presenting TAP, especially in the United States. TAP is betting high on the airline as the best way to get to Portugal and the rest of Europe, showing not only the products that it has to offer – new aircraft, the new lounge, new seats and stopovers but also the country and its food, wines, culture and traditions. In fact, their home.
The new TAP lounge at Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon, which opened recently after total refurbishment, is the first presentation of Daniela and Joaquim as TAP ambassadors. It was designed by the architect Miguel Arruda and is full of elements reminiscent of the idea of “Portugueseness”, such as the use of cork. The new Lounge is the ideal place for TAP passengers to feel like film stars and take a little of Portugal with them wherever they are about to go.
The Portugal Stopover programme offers TAP clients who have a layover in Lisbon or Porto to visit Portugal at no extra cost for 24, 48 or 72 hours. Where the programme is concerned, more than the airline’s ambassadors, the actors are really ambassadors of Portugal and show why a visit to their country is a must, with all the advantages that the programme offers.
The Lisbon hub serves five airports in North America and flies to more than 45 destinations in Europe and 16 in Africa. It offers huge advantages to TAP passengers from New York, Boston and Miami in the United States and Toronto in Canada, plus the domestic connections in the USA thanks to its partnership with JetBlue.
This is the first phase of the campaign starring Daniela Ruah and Joaquim de Almeida. Other surprises will be coming soon. But, for the time being, you can count on their company on our very own airline, TAP.
