The “Voluntários com Asas”, a group of employees of TAP which is dedicated to volunteer actions, raised already more than 40 thousand euros in seven auctions held in the last eight months, benefiting four institutions of social solidarity.
These auctions are held regularly and are the result of the refurbishment of aircraft interiors of TAP, carried out by Maintenance & Engineering (ME), putting at the disposal of the lovers of aviation articles like chairs, galleys, cabinets, doors and tables that, with this initiative, gain a new value.
The enthusiasm generated by the auctions in solidarity is, on the one hand, with the opportunity to acquire these exclusive articles and, on the other, the possibility to contribute actively to the development of the work of institutions such as the “Associação Salvador”, “Caritas”, the “Associação de Albergues Noturnos” in Lisbon or the ”Centro de Apoio ao Sem-Abrigo” (CASA).

The next auction will take place during the month of March and will be repeated until the end of the project underway to retrofit TAP aircrafts, thus being able to keep up with other products, where the volunteers with wings to assess this possibility. It is intended that the project will be extended to other products from several areas and companies of the TAP Group.
