The historical landmarks for TAP keep adding up. In March, the Company won the first place of punctuality in the list of the European airlines that operate the most at Humberto Delgado Airport, in Lisbon.
After the very positive start in 2019, with historical punctuality values for the Company, TAP was the most punctual among the European companies with greater activity in the Hub of Lisbon, even though it had a more complex operation, connectivity, and with more flights by day than the other companies operating at Lisbon Airport.
After having secured the second place in this list - behind the first by five and two percentage points, respectively - it now leads the way with 83% of spot flights, 3% more than the runner-up.
The company's investments in 2018 and 2019 are now reflected in these results. The implementation of new boarding procedures, self-check-in terminals and the increase of personnel in the operational teams at the airport, as well as the unprecedented decision to have three reserve aircrafts (to minimize the effects of unforeseen operations), among others, are responsible for these results.
Fundamental to this success is also the effort of TAP teams’ who, together and committed to the Project D15, have contributed and contribute every day to take TAP to the podium of the most punctual airlines in the world.
It should be noted that, in aviation, flights complying with indicator D15 are considered to be punctual, that is, departing up to 15 minutes after the scheduled time. The company's target for 2019 was 70% of average global punctuality, being already in the first quarter of the year with 83%.
