“It is with great pleasure that I am here with you. Among the thousands of applications you have been chosen to join this great team. Welcome to our home and congratulations! "This is how Pedro Ramos, Director of Human Resources at TAP Group, started the welcome session for new TAP Employees on the morning of November 22nd.
This ceremony, held at the Hangar 6 Auditorium, also included some of the leaders of the Company's major areas, such as Abílio Martins, Chief Marketing & Sales Officer (CMSO), Ramiro Sequeira, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mário Lobato de Faria, Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and Gonçalo Naples, Safety Manager, who made known not only TAP but also their areas and challenges in greater detail.
More than 120 employees from various areas, from the north to the south of the country, but also from England, South Africa, Brazil, Moldova and Australia, attended the session, thus confirming that the Company has indeed been showing increasingly global, not only in performance but also in hiring.
With a very positive speech and also directed to the growth of TAP, Abílio Martins conveyed to the new Employees TAP's vision, mission and values, also focusing on their commitment going forward. “It’s a huge responsibility to be here, but above all a privilege. This is the fastest growing company and contributes to the development of Portugal ", he added.
At a Safety & Security debut at this welcome session, Gonçalo Napoli stated that “having the opportunity to share with each new colleague their key role in this mission is essential. It is an opportunity for everyone to contribute from the outset to TAP's culture and safety level”.
Cláudia Caeiro, Cabin Crew, was very pleased with the opportunity to join TAP, describing it as "a dream." "These sessions are excellent, because besides knowing the Company, we also know each other", she added. Doina Railean, also a Cabin Crew, did not hide the pride or even the surprise of being welcomed in this way at the Company: "A company of this size and yet it cares to receive us like this… is very good indeed."
To Vítor Aires, Human Resources, "this session is fundamental to getting to know TAP's business areas and the company's general framework". The employee added that "working at TAP is a privilege, regardless of the area in which we operate."
This year, and to date, 828 new Employees have already been hired, with the next and last Welcome Aboard session of the year scheduled for December 2.
